  • This collection as it is apparent from its title has gathered based on a familiar subject, the traditional concept of drawing portraits, which created a huge portion of the conceptual art images and through passage of time, has faced various changes. In the tradition of portrait drawing just before 19th century, visages to some extend were representatives of the social status, yet by the beginning of this century and differences in discourses they turned to a self-representatives and an individual’s symbol springing from each person. These changes of discourses were parallel to creeks which considered self and individual person as a unique subjects and regarded visage as a symbol toward these remarkable features and most importantly as the reflection of the inner feeling of that person.
This distinction between inside and out, private and personal, surface and depth concepts ,considering the visage of human beings, is like a shade in which it whispers the secrets within and creates  upheavals and movements in this genre which continued till today.
“Visages’ is an exhibition of Fereydoun Ave’s private collection.
This collection comprises various works, such as installations of different elements, sculptures, paintings and pictures, that each indicates different generations with different inclinations and styles, yet the mutual concept and feature among all these work is the face and presence of the portrait.
